Welcome to Sweetacres, a peaceful farmstay just 3km from Lumsden in Northern Southland, where genuine rural hospitality, stunning mountain views and wide-open spaces create the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The cottage features three bedrooms, two bathrooms and sleeps up to five guests, making it ideal for couples, families or small groups. Located right on the Around the Mountains Cycle Trail with direct access from the trail, it’s the perfect stop to rest and recharge after a day’s riding. Delicious home-style meal and platter options are also available (subject to availability) allowing you to simply arrive, relax and enjoy your stay.
Explore the farm on a self-guided walk, book a farm tour, enjoy world-class fly fishing on the nearby Oreti River, or simply soak up the peace and quiet of the Southland countryside.
Set on a working sheep, beef and deer farm that has been in the Menlove family since 1931, Sweetacres offers guests the opportunity to experience authentic New Zealand farming while enjoying the comfort of our beautifully renovated Sweetacres Cottage.
