Women-only, fully supported e-bike tours in small groups
Would you love to explore some of southern New Zealand’s most beautiful cycle trails, but feel unsure about joining a tour on your own or whether every cycling day will be manageable?
Many women join Sidetracks Women on their own. You will travel in a welcoming group of no more than ten women, with an experienced female guide and a support driver. The atmosphere is supportive rather than competitive, allowing you to enjoy the cycling, the scenery and the company without feeling pressured.
Our seven-day Lakes, Fiords & Mountains Cycle Tour combines some of the finest cycling in Southland and Central Otago. Ride selected sections of the Around the Mountains Trail, the Lake2Lake Trail, the Gibbston Valley trails and the spectacular Lake Dunstan Trail.
Your e-bike is included, and a support vehicle accompanies the tour throughout. This provides extra reassurance and, where the trail can be accessed by road, the option to shorten a cycling day if you need to.
Between rides, you can look forward to thoughtfully chosen accommodation, home-cooked dinners on most evenings and time to relax together. Our holiday houses, cottages and apartments offer shared living and dining spaces where conversations can continue naturally after the day’s cycling.
With more than 30 years of experience guiding active tours in New Zealand, we understand that a successful cycling holiday is about more than completing the kilometres. It is about feeling well looked after, comfortable within the group and proud of what you have achieved.
Many of our guests return for another Sidetracks Women tour, sometimes travelling again with women they met on an earlier journey.

- A maximum of ten participants
- E-bike hire for the cycling days

- Carefully selected sections of four distinctive cycle trails
- Transport from and back to Queenstown
- Six nights’ accommodation
