  • Real Journeys TSS Earnslaw

    At Real Journeys we offer a variety of experiences in some of the most beautiful places on earth. Our Queenstown experiences, the iconic TSS Earnslaw and Walter Peak High Country Station, play a much-loved part of the town’s history. On your journey along the Around the Mountains Cycle Trail you’ll have the opportunity to discover what makes them so special. To enhance your journey, you have the option of upgrading your cruise on the TSS Earnslaw to include a range of experiences available at Walter Peak High Country Station:

  • Dome Café

    Dome Cafe offers great food, lovely coffee and friendly staff. A small family run cafe, with all food made onsite. We can cater for individual dietary requirements and packed lunches.

  • Bracken Hall

    Bracken Hall is a cafe and gift shop situated on the main street of Mossburn. It is a popular stop over for travellers between Queenstown and Te Anau and also cyclists on the Around The Mountains Cycle Trail. We are open seven days from 8.30am to 5.30pm during the summer months of October to April, and from 9am to 5pm during winter. Our menu includes breakfast, lunch and morning and afternoon tea. We also have a gluten-free or vegetarian option available. Takeaway lunches or snacks are available by arrangment. We provide home-made tasty food including our famous venison pies, all served by our friendly staff.

  • Route 6 Café

    In the heart of Lumsden, you will find our modern 1950's themed Americana Cafe ... with a kiwiana touch! We have become world-renowned for our great burgers, our locally roasted coffee and our extensive gluten-free offering. Whether you are after a staple Southland Cheeseroll, some Stewart Island blue cod or a famous burger, we are sure to impress!

  • Lumsden Takeaway

    Popular with locals, fish and chips are just as they should be at Lumsden Takeaways. Chips are chunky, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle while the fish tastes fresh. The generous portions can be served either for as a sit-down meal or takeaway.

    Situated in the historic Kingston Railway Station on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, the Kingston Flyer Café & Bar is a wonderful place to unwind and relax after your journey around the mountains.   • Garston Hotel and Cafe

    The Garston hotel has been a long-standing icon for the area. Situated in the Mataura Valley, next to the Mataura River, we offer a great escape for the keen fisherman, with some of the best brown trout fishing accessible within walking distance of the hotel. Situated just 40 minutes south of Queenstown on the main highway, the Garston Hotel provides great coffee and food to takeaway or dine-in. A haven for locals and travelers alike, accommodation is available on site and, with a fully licensed bar, and restaurant, all your needs are catered for.

  • The Coffee Bomb

    The Coffee Bomb in Garston is New Zealand's most inland food truck, serving the finest coffee, freshly roasted in Southland, and an array of fresh sandwiches, slices and cakes. A great little spot to stop on your Southland travels.

  • The Brown Trout Café

    The Brown Trout Cafe offers a range of delicious home-made food with both dine-in and take-away options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From pies and sandwiches to scrumptious scones and muffins, we also serve great locally-roasted ROAR coffee or a resfreshing non-alchoholic or alchoholic drink. There's something bound to appease your appetite. A great spot to stop!

  • The Hide Café & Garden Bar

    Located in Athol, the Hide offers a delicious selection of dine in and takeaway food from 7.30am right through to evening dining. The Hide has a fully stocked bar with a selection of wine and beer from New Zealand and overseas which can be enjoyed on or off premises. Our garden bar is the perfect place to unwind. Over the summer months, there are market stalls each Sunday and frequently live music to create a great vibe on a sunny day. There is a great selection of giftware, homewares and Kiwiana for you to browse while taking a break. The Hide also run a reasonably-priced courtesy coach for those staying in the area. We can pick you up and return you home after dinner (pre bookings are essential).
